To be eligible for the SSC JE (Junior Engineer) Examination 2024, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Candidates must be one of the following:
A citizen of India.
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
The age limit varies according to the post and department:
Central Water Commission and CPWD: Up to 32 years.
MES and other departments: Up to 30 years.
Note: Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for various categories such as SC/ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, and other special categories.
Candidates must possess the following educational qualifications:
Junior Engineer (Civil), Central Water Commission: Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Junior Engineer (Mechanical), Central Water Commission: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Junior Engineer (Civil), CPWD: Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Junior Engineer (Electrical), CPWD: Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Junior Engineer (Civil), MES: Degree in Civil Engineering or (a) Diploma in Civil Engineering with two years of experience in the field.
Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical), MES: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or (a) Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with two years of experience in the field.
Junior Engineer (QS&C), MES: 3 years Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent with relevant experience.
Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical), other departments: Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Some posts may require candidates to meet certain physical standards as specified by the respective departments.
Candidates must ensure they possess the necessary qualifications and experience (if any) as on the closing date of the application.
Candidates must be able to provide proof of their eligibility during the document verification process.
